
Major Depression (Clinical Depression)
Major depression is a very common illness and usually characterized by extreme low mood, lost interest in things, anxious, sleep disorder, change in appetite, trouble in concentrating and remembering, and many more. A person who diagnosed with this condition usually last the listed symptoms for at least 2 weeks continuously or more and it is affecting their life (iFred, 2016).
There are many types of depression and each may causes different harms to a person, but mainly all types of depression included the symptoms of intense sadness and unstable mood state. Below are some of the common types of depression.

Dysthymia (Chronic Depression)
It is often categorized as a mild depressive disorder. With chronic depression, the depressed state can last from days to days for at least 2 years. A person may have the chance of develop this condition into major depression if left untreated (WebMD, 2016).

Bipolar Depression
Untreated depression can develop in to bipolar depression. People who suffered from bipolar depression involved two mood swings - a depressed state (extreme sadness) and a mania state (hypo and energetic). The person can feel the condition of both high and low mood changes (Paul, 2007, p. 9).

Psychotic Depression
The person who diagnosed with psychotic depression has false beliefs, often called as delusion (Paul, 2007, p. 9&10).

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)
A depressed mood triggered by changing of weather, mostly during wintertime due to the lack of sunlight (Health line, 2013).

A mood disturbance caused by substances abuse (drugs or alcohol) and is mainly occurred during intoxication or substances withdrawal life (iFred, 2016).
