CONCLUSION.
As a conclusion, by understanding the structure of depression helps a designer to come out strategies for creating a better healing environment to fight against depression.
By practicing mindfulness meditation can benefits a person from liberating a person's mind and thoughts and also gain new set of skills. When a person is involving in mindfulness meditation not only brings calm and peace to his/her mind and body, it is also serves as a tool for preventing depression from relapse. Mindfulness meditation is about learning to be more aware of the surrounding and enhance the sense of awareness. This is why surrounding architecture and built environment played a crucial part of healing or freeing a person from depression or other mental illness.
The analysis of my survey (questionnaires) and research project helps me to study the human needs for restoring mental health and gain knowledge about the quality of space for creating a healthy environment. It will be useful for me to incorporate those principles of healing environment such as consideration of sensory environment, light intensity, noise, viewing landscape and nature into my final major project in order to sustain my project brief as a medical centre with the integration of research, mental health and education facilities. I want to create a place not just for healing, but an atmosphere which generates a sense of life where people can feel the healthy atmosphere, in order to let them stay comfortable and feel less stressful.
