The lack of energy of a depressed person makes them hard and tired to concentrate on doing things even the smallest activities. Some depressed people may lose interest in almost everything included sex pleasure. There are some depressed people who might still keep their interest but they do not enjoy or having fun in things (Paul, 2007, p. 4).

Emotions

Depression is a mental disorder of intense sadness. Due to the reduction of positive emotions in depression, it can trigger a lot of negative emotions if left untreated, especially anger. Depressed people become extremely irritable and often easily to get offended by little things, which lead them to feel guilty, and this makes them even more depressed. Depressed people feel vulnerable. Depression often comes along with symptoms of fear and anxiety. Depression may evoke other possible negative emotions like shame, envy and jealousy (Paul, 2007, p. 4).

Depressed people often have short memories and easily to forget things, in fact they tend to remember negative things rather than positive things. Depression affects a person's the way they think of their future. A depressed people feel worthless, defeated and lost. They often see their future as unclear, nothing or a blank canvas. Depression drives a person into extreme form of thinking, their thoughts is either success or failure (Paul, 2007, p. 5).

Depression changes a person's behaviours. Depressed people feel too much effort on doing things than they use to. Depressed people find them self hard to cope with people because they might find it easily to have conflict with others so sometimes they choose to escape or avoid from people. As a result, this behaviour causes them in social withdrawal and isolation. Some depressed people become agitated and restless, while some people experience slowed down which everything seems 'heavy' to them (Paul, 2007, p. 6).

Depression causes physical changes in a person's body and brain. Some people find advantages of using drugs to allow them to build up some of the lost brain chemicals due to depression. As a result of chemical changes inside a depressed person's brain, they might start to encounter with sleep disorder, changes in appetite, as well as losing or gaining in body weight (Paul, 2007, p. 6&7).
